Jurek Leonhardt
I mainly work on information retrieval. Specifically, my current focus lies on efficiency of neural ranking models. Less prominently, I work on effectiveness and interpretability (by design) for ranking and retrieval.
Lijun Lyu
I am a PhD candidate interested in Explainable Machine Learning models in general with a focus on ranking models in IR. My adviser is Prof. Avishek Anand. My research goal is to understand complex ranking models particularly the ones assisted by large pre-training language models, and taking a further attempt to make the ranking models intrinsically transparent.
Research interests:
- Explainable Machine Learning
- Natural Language Processing
- Ranking Models
Maximillian Idahl
Research interests:
- Explainable AI
- Large Language Models
- Natural Language Processing
Joans Wallat
I’m Jonas and I work with Avishek on interpretability and robustness of LLMs. The main goal is understanding how information is processed and making sure the LLMs do so reliably.
Research interests:
- Mechanistic interpretability
- QA & IR
- Robustness of Deep Learning models
Venktesh Vishwanathan
I am a postdoctoral researcher in WIS group at TU Delft. My research lies at the intersection of Natural language processing and Information retrieval, primarily concerning robust generative and retrieval pipelines for solving knowledge intensive tasks like complex QA and complex fact checking. My work involves building challenging benchmarks for these tasks and solving them. Homepage
Abhijit Anand
My name is Abhijit and I am currently working to obtain my PhD from Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany. My research focuses on improving Search and Ranking using Large Language models. My research contributions include but not restricted to improving document ranking performance in low resourse setting and for hard queries.
Research interests:
- Ranking Models
- Data Augmentation
- Query Modelling
Mandeep Rathee
I am a PhD researcher at L3S Research Center, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. My research interests lies in the application of graphs in information retrieval and Web tasks. I have also contributed to private and explainable graph-based machine learning models.
Research interests:
- Explainable AI
- Ranking Models
- Graph Neural Networks
